Organized beach with shallow water and black sand. It is a popular destination for families, as there is also a children’s playground. In addition there are beach volleyball, football and basketball courts, while at your disposal there are hotels, taverns, bars and shops. The big rock that gave the beach its name is still visible from the airport.

Monolithos is a typical village of Santorini, very close to the airport and about 8 km. from Fira. The village is famous for the traditional Santorini tomatoes, as this is where most of their processing factories were located, of which today only one operates for a few days a year. The beach of Agia Paraskevi is also very close.


It is next to Perivolos, in the imposing shadow of Mesa Vounou, which separates it from Kamari. Ancient Thera is also located in Mesa Vounos. Perissa has long been a favorite leisure destination for locals and has many old and quaint taverns. The area began to develop after the 1956 earthquake, when many residents chose it for their residence, leaving other parts of the island.

It is one of the most famous and colorful beaches of the island, with black sand and pebbles and has excellent infrastructure for food, accommodation and entertainment, as well as many possibilities for water sports.


It is next to Perissa and developed following it, as together they form a single beach with a length of about 5km. It has black sand and many facilities and infrastructure for entertainment, accommodation, food and water sports. Vlychada is located on the south side of the island, between Akrotiri and Perivolos and very close to the archaeological site of Akrotiri. It is an ideal place if you prefer a more quiet and secluded holiday. The grayish sand and impressive rock formations make Vlychada one of the most beautiful and special beaches of the island. The beach is organized and there are several fish taverns and bars.


This small beach has a wonderful view towards Thirasia and crystal clear waters. You can reach it by boat from Ammoudi or by footpath from Oia, but you will need to climb about 286 steps. Alternatively you can use a donkey. There is a diving center.


It is one of the most famous and cosmopolitan beaches of the Cyclades, always full of visitors, with dark sand and crystal clear waters. Its length reaches 5 km. The coastal road, closed to vehicles in the summer, is full of shops, cafes and taverns, while the settlement has a lot of accommodation. There are also cinemas and water sports facilities.

Kamari is located on the eastern side of the island, a few kilometers from the airport, while Fira is about 15 minutes away by bus. The village was rebuilt from scratch after the earthquake of 1956. In ancient times it was the most important point of the island, after the collapse of Akrotiri, which is why the ancient capital of the island, Ancient Thira, is built very close to it.


It is located near the port of Oia and is particularly picturesque, with several cafes and restaurants.


Baxedes (or Paradisos) is a quiet beach with black sand, ideal for those who prefer seclusion and avoid crowds.

Gialos is a secluded beach, where access is only possible by jeep.


Caldera is a small and very quiet beach with black sand and deep crystal clear waters which enjoys an unrivaled view of the volcano.

Red beach

Probably the most famous beach of the island. The impressive natural landscape with the reddish rock formations have made it famous all over the world. You can reach it by walking from the port of Akrotiri or by boat from Kamari, Akrotiri or Perissa.

White beach

The white beach offers a unique natural landscape that you should not miss. Black sand with gray and white pebbles and giant white rocks form an eerie landscape that will impress you.


Also known as Exo Gialos. It is an impressive beach with dark blue waters. You can reach it by driving from the village of Karterados towards the coast.


One of the most popular beaches of Santorini with many options for food and entertainment. Black sand is its trademark.
